I'm CRANKY!!
I'm cranky and grouchy and in a bad mood! and it's giving me writers/bloggers block......I haven't been able to think of anything to blog about since I usually blog about things that give me pleasure or make me happy and there's been a shortage of that around here this week......
and it's all THIS womans fault!
Daughter and I were quite successful on this program 2 years ago, but we didn't follow through on the maintainence program and here we are, right back where we started. As someone who has had a lifelong battle with weight and have at times been a yo-yo dieter, I have tried many things, and this program seems to suit me. As with all successful "diets", it's basically low-fat, low-carb, and controlled portions, but it's designed in such a way that it fits my lifestyle......
ANYWAY....we started again on the 5th, and the first three days are protein only before you get into the regular routine. If any of you have ever tried cutting out carbs, especially if you're a carb addict like me, you know what I'm talking about!!#$%*!!#! Today I am adding other foods so I feel somewhat better, but WOW! is this depressing! But the weight has to come down (I'm having a few weight related health issues) so I just have to bite the bullet and get on with it.........
When so much of what I enjoy revolves around food and food related activities, it's not just about being hungry or carb-deprived! It's a big part of who I am! ...and since I temporarily packed away the sewing "studio", one of the other things I enjoy so much, I feel kind of lost this week. I've been really stressed out over sewing projects and deadlines the last few months so I needed a break, but maybe my timing is bad. The two things I enjoy the most on a daily basis and I've pretty much quit them both cold turkey on the same day! I don't know what to do with myself and I don't have anything to blog about! I've even been too cranky to enjoy the grandkids, so there went my third favorite thing........(Oh boy! Am I a whiny, basket case right now or what? cranky, cranky, cranky!)
With no sewing to get finished I figured I'd have plenty of time to work my way through a years worth of magazines that have been piling up in the corner. That should certainly keep me busy for a few weeks.......
but no! That's obviously not going to work....notice anything?
That's right.....ALL FOOD RELATED!! Can't stand to look at those right now (grouch, grouch, grouch!).........
Daughter and I are walking regularly together and I'm clearing away all the clutter from the treadmill this weekend, so I'm going to make it work this time even if it kills me!! (when actually it could kill me if I don't) And chasing the grandkids around the block on their new Christmas bikes is really good cardio. They're happy to "help" me with that any time I ask......
so... I know,I know.....no excuses this time. Maybe it's time I found a new hobby to keep me busy besides food activities AND I'm cutting short my month-long sewing hiatus. I think under the circumstances, a week has been a long enough break. While trying hard not to think about food, I've had some new, creative sewing projects forming in my head, especially several new aprons! I guess I shouldn't try to fight my creative apron urges (must...sew.....aprons...!)
SEE!......I'M FEELING BETTER ALREADY.........
(thanks for listening to my whiny, cranky, rant! What would I do without you? You're a good listener....)

Mom...you're so funny.
I hope it works, and I know for a fact your health is worth a little bit of being carb-deprived...think of those wedding and graduation cakes you'll be around to eat as a healthy, awesome grandma!
Welcome back to sewing... Hope your break was refreshing.
