Bloggers block?

I read somewhere a while back that the average life of a blog is about a year. I don't remember where I read it or the reasons they gave but I'm finding there must be some truth to it.....I can't think of anything to blog about anymore. And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.

There are 12 blogs that I read every day. And there are about 20 more blogs that I read at least once a week. All of these blogs have new posts almost every day....or at least they did...until recently. Suddenly, quite a few are posting less and less often, AND I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT!!

I want to tap each one of these Bloggers on the shoulder and say "Uh, excuse me, but could you please get back to writing a new post every day again. Don't you realize how much I look forward to seeing what you have to say every single day? Don't you realize the pleasure I get from reading your witty opinion on even the simplest of subjects? Don't you know that I count on your latest completed project or recipe for creative inspiration? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Get busy with your blog already! Just because I can't think of anything to blog about anymore doesn't mean that all of you can quit writing about your stuff!"

I used to have so many ideas that I had to make a list and ration them out.....Now I got nothin'.

Is this writers block?

Can you even have writers block when your not officially a writer? How about Bloggers block?

My life is the same as it was back in the good old blogging-every-day days. I'm still doing the same things with the same people in the same places. Oh, wait...is that the problem? Is my life boring? Am I too routine? Am I in a rut?

Well, even that's the case, it didn't stop me from having things to blog about before, so what's the deal now?

If anyone out there knows what's going on here please let me in on it!

I don't know, but I'm right there with you!

I started by making myself post 5 days a week, as an exercise in sitting down to write "something" every single day. I found I could write "something" but it might not be anything that the world would want to read. So I decided to write as often as I can, when I have something to say. Lately that is working out to a couple of times a week. I felt really bad about it at first, but I notice, with as many blogs as I read, I actually like the ones that post a little less frequently--less for me to get behind on!

So just keep posting whenever you want to, and don't worry about how often--I like seeing what you're up to!

I have been doing my blog for almost a year and a half and it does pose a challenge to come up with something worth blogging about! My blog tends to be a chronicle of my life over the years that my kids can read to see what went on in the early days and to collect some family recipes in one place for them.
It does seem like some people can come up with a project a day to blog about. Such energy! I'm just taking it slow...

I'm guilty of disappearing... But it's because I let my blog get in the way of life, and now my priorities are much more in line and I am a much happier person for it... not to mention I got SOOO busy, and didn't have as much sewing time. Being a Senior in college makes it hard to sit down and do it sometimes! I still read them all though!

I try to write when I have something to say. Sometimes it seems a bit pointless - that I am the only one reading, but I hope it will pick up in time. I certainly don't post about everything I make, as I am so busy making things! One of these days I will try to do a tutorial for something.
Even if your favourites go quiet for awhile, there are so many blogs out there that you are unlikely to run out of reading material!
